Privacy Policy
Last updated: 13 October 2026
Your privacy matters. This policy explains what information Driving Test Routes collects, why, and the choices you have.
01Information we collect
We aim to collect as little as possible. Depending on how you use the App, this may include:
- Location data — only while you use route guidance, and only with your permission, to show your position on a route.
- App usage data — such as saved test centres and routes you mark as practised.
- Diagnostics — anonymous crash reports and performance data to help us fix bugs.
- Support messages — anything you send us by email or chat.
02How we use your information
- To provide route maps, guidance and progress tracking.
- To improve accuracy, fix problems and develop new features.
- To respond to your support requests.
- To meet our legal obligations.
03Legal basis (UK & EU users)
Under UK GDPR and EU GDPR, we process your data on the basis of your consent (for location access), to perform our contract with you (providing the App), and our legitimate interests (keeping the App secure and improving it).
04Sharing your information
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with trusted service providers who help us run the App — such as hosting, mapping, analytics and customer support (including Crisp for website chat) — and only as needed to provide their services, or when required by law.
05Data retention
We keep personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes above. Location data used for live guidance is not stored on our servers. You can delete in-app data at any time by removing the App.
06Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you.
- Withdraw consent, for example by turning off location access in your device settings.
- Object to or restrict certain processing, and request data portability.
- For California residents, know what personal information is collected and opt out of its sale (we do not sell it).
To exercise any of these rights, email support@drivingtestroutes.app.
07Children
The App is intended for learner drivers who meet the minimum age to learn to drive in their country. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
08Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work hard to keep your data safe.
09Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time and will change the “last updated” date above. Please also review our Terms of Service.
